Process serving
Process serving in South Carolina
Energe Process Serving delivers civil legal papers to the people and businesses named in your request, and documents every step.
What process serving is
Process serving is the delivery of legal papers — such as a summons and complaint or other civil documents — to the person or business they are directed to. Energe’s field contractors make service attempts at the address you supply and record what happened on each attempt.
Energe decides whether it can accept each request through its eligibility review. Certain kinds of documents and situations are not accepted through the standard workflow, and some require a person to review them first.
What is included with standard local service
- One supplied local address in Energe's service area
- Up to three attempts under Energe's standard attempt policy (a business policy, not a legal requirement)
- Attempt records made by the field contractor
- Status updates in your client portal
- Final proof of service, or documentation of unsuccessful attempts, delivered securely
