Frequently asked questions

Short, plain answers about how Energe Process Serving works.

Common questions

Process serving is the delivery of legal papers to the person or business they are directed to. Energe’s field contractors make attempts at the address you provide and record what happened on each attempt.

The matter details (court, case type and case number if assigned), the name of the person or business to be served, a complete service address, and clear PDF copies of the documents. Helpful identifying details can also be added.

Upload them through REQUEST SERVICE or your client portal. Documents are encrypted when stored. Please do not email documents or send them through the Contact form.

Log in to your client portal to see the status of each request. Energe may also send notices to the email address on your account.

If attempts under Energe’s standard attempt policy end without service, you receive documentation of the attempts made. Energe does not guarantee that service will be successful.

Standard local service includes up to three attempts at one supplied local address under Energe’s standard attempt policy. Three attempts is Energe’s business policy, not a legal requirement.

No. Energe makes attempts under its standard policy, but it cannot guarantee that a person will be found or served, or that any deadline will be met.

No. Energe is not a law firm. Its eligibility review is an operational screening to decide whether Energe can accept a request — not advice about your case. Please speak with an attorney about documents, methods of service and deadlines.

Rush and same-day requests are reviewed individually. Availability is not guaranteed, and any additional charge is confirmed before work begins.

Yes. Organization accounts support multiple users, saved organization details, matters, saved recipients and addresses, and faster repeat requests. See Law firms & businesses.

Yes. Log in, open the matter and start a new request. Saved matter, recipient and address details are filled in for you; each new request still goes through eligibility review.

No. A court run is a separate service, subject to availability and each court’s procedures. Delivering proof of service to you is not a court filing.

Important: Energe performs an operational eligibility screening of each request. This is not legal advice, and Energe is not a law firm. Submitting a request does not guarantee that Energe will accept it or that service will be successful. You remain responsible for choosing the correct documents, method and deadlines for your matter.
